Author's Statement

Conflict of interest statement

To ensure fair and objective decision-making, authors must declare any associations that pose a potential conflict of interest (financial, personal or professional) in connection with evaluated manuscripts. Please complete the ICMJE conflict of interest form, which is available at http://www.icmje.org/conflicts-of-interest/. Please ensure that a conflict of interest statement is included at the end of the manuscript and that it matches what is declared on the ICMJE conflict of interest form. If there are no potential conflicts of interest, the following statement should be included before the References section in the manuscript: Conflict of Interest: The authors declare that this research was conducted in the absence of any relationships that could be construed as a potential conflict of interest.

Informed consent

The protection of privacy is a legal right that must not be breached without individual informed consent. In cases where the identification of personal information from any relevant patient, research participant, and/or other individual whose information is included in the article is necessary for scientific reasons, corresponding author should obtain full documentation of signed informed consent, including written permission from the patient prior to inclusion in the study. The following statement should be included before the References:

Informed consent: Informed consent has been obtained from all individuals included in this study

Ethical approval

Authorization for the use of human subjects

Manuscripts reporting studies that involve the use of human subjects should clearly state that the research has complied with all relevant national regulations and institutional policies and has been approved by the author’s institutional review board or equivalent committee. Copies of the guidelines and policy statements must be available for review by the Managing Editor if necessary. The editors reserve the right to seek additional information or guidance from reviewers on any cases in which concerns arise. All investigations involving human subjects must have been conducted in accordance with the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki.

In the case of studies involving clinical trials, the manuscript should include the number of the trial and the name of the public registry where the clinical trial has been registered. Personal information relating to individual subjects should only be included in a manuscript when it is deemed necessary for scientific reasons. In such cases, steps should be taken to ensure that the privacy of the individual is protected, and that an individual cannot be identified from the material included in the manuscript. In all cases involving the use of human subjects, the author should obtain the written informed consent of the participants. Authors must identify the committee or review board that has approved the experiments, and must provide a statement indicating approval of the research. A statement should be included in the Methods section in the manuscript and a separate statement should be included before the References. The following statement should be used as a guideline (information on clinical trials should also be included if relevant):

Ethical Approval: The use of human subjects in this research has complied with all the relevant national regulations and institutional policies, and has been conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. All participants in the study gave their written informed consent. The research was approved by the author’s institutional review board (or equivalent committee).

Authorization for the use of animals in experiments

Manuscripts reporting studies that involve the use of animals should clearly state that the research has complied with all relevant national regulations and institutional policies and has been approved by the author’s institutional review board or equivalent committee. Copies of the guidelines and policy statements must be available for review by the Managing Editor if necessary. The editors reserve the right to seek additional information or guidance from reviewers on any cases in which concerns arise. Research using animal subjects should be conducted according to the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals and similar documents (e.g., https://grants.nih.gov/grants/olaw/olaw.htm). Authors must identify the committee approving the experiments, and must confirm that all experiments were performed in accordance with the relevant regulations. A statement to that effect should be included in the Methods section in the manuscript and a separate statement should be included before the References. The following statement should be used as a guideline:

Ethical Approval: The use of animals in this research has complied with all the relevant national regulations and institutional policies, and has been conducted in accordance with (insert the relevant guidelines here). The research was approved by the author’s institutional review board (or equivalent committee).

The research related to animals use has been complied with all the relevant national regulations and institutional policies for the care and use of animals.

If the manuscript does not contain any study that requires human or animal ethical approval, the following statement should be included before Reference:

Ethical approval: The conducted research is not related to either human or animals use.

Author contributions

Please state the contribution each author has made to the manuscript (literature review, figures, conception, study design, data collection, data analysis, data interpretation, writing, etc.). If all authors contributed equally, please state this. The information provided here must match the “Author Contributions” statement in the manuscript. Allowing one’s name to appear as an author without having contributed significantly to the study, or adding the name of an individual who has either not contributed or has not agreed to the work in its current form, will be considered as a breach of the criteria for authorship.
