Special Issue Introduction
The last decade brought up modern technical approaches to rectal cancer surgery as well as benign diseases. On top of minimal invasive techniques transanal and robotic approaches will be in focus of this Special Issue. Both are concerned to be disruptive techniques, but will have to prove their benefits. The aim of this Special Issue is to bring these innovative techniques together and into discussion.
