Topic: Foregut Disease: Minimally Invasive and Innovation Therapeutics

Foregut surgery is well-established in treating conditions, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), achalasia, esophageal diverticula, Barrett's esophagus (BE) and esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, gastric outlet obstruction, and obesity. Over the past decade, remarkable progress in interventional endoscopy and robotic techniques has culminated in the conceptualization. Studies have shown that in foregut surgery, robot-assisted intraoperative and postoperative complications are comparable or superior to traditional laparoscopic techniques, and robotic surgery has the benefits of reducing conversion rates, reducing readmission rates, and improving functional outcomes in complex reoperative foregut surgery. At the same time, the number of publications on minimally invasive foregut surgery is also increasing. We believe that many experts need a platform to show their achievements in this field. Therefore, this Special Issue sets up a more comprehensive platform for a broader discussion and summary of the experiences, methods, techniques, and pitfalls of endoscopic and robotic, and even laparoscopic foregut surgery.
