Special Issue Introduction

The evolution from open surgeries to minimally invasive procedures is in large part due to the development of robotics. Robotic technology allows surgeons to provide more precise, efficient outcomes for their patients than the traditional approaches used in open surgeries. Urology has always been at the forefront of new technology. Urology surgeons are now able to perform prostate, bladder and kidney removal using minimally invasive robotics, the use of robotic-assisted techniques now accounts for over 50 percent of urologic procedures.

Therefore, we hope that through this special issue to discuss the robot-assisted transurethral ablation of the prostate, new robots for Laparoscopic urologic surgery and robot-assisted transurethral of the Prostate and other cutting-edge trends in the development of robotic urology promote the communication among experts and scholars, and promote the development of robotic urology.
